Technical Project Manager (Real-Time Systems)

We're are assisting our client - a prominent player in the aviation industry with the search for a Technical Project Manager.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Technical PM will engage across the project lifecycle, employing top-notch project management methodologies from initiation to completion. Operating on a global scale, the candidate will oversee several simultaneous projects across diverse markets, assuming a leadership role in guiding and mentoring the project team.

Salary: $90,000 - 120,000 per year, + other great perks and benefits

Location: Ottawa (hybrid: 50/50 split between on-site and remote work)

Responsibilities:

• Produce compliant project documentation following QA processes.
• Initiate change and formal methodology development.
• Lead issue resolution and resource alignment across departments.
• Apply both waterfall and agile methodologies effectively.
• Conduct project reviews and report key metrics to senior management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, suppliers, auditors, and regulators.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle: initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close.
• Define and manage project requirements, handle Change Orders, and prevent scope creep.
• Support ongoing sales and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree and/or technical background in computer-based solutions.
• PMP or Prince2 Certification with 7+ years relevant experience.
• Familiarity with software production methodology.
• Strong team leadership and technology adaptation skills.
• Knowledge of software safety assurance guidelines (e.g. EUROCAE ED 153, EUROCAE ED 109A) in Air Traffic Management Systems is preferred
• Proficiency in Quality Assurance Processes (ISO 9001:2015 or similar).
