The Senior Project Manager will be an integral part of our Program Management Office supporting the Engineering and Product Management organizations to improve project execution and delivery for our product initiatives. You will manage strategic, customer success oriented and transformation programs and projects and acquire a deep understanding of Sphera’s systems and capabilities to provide solutions in alignment with our business and market strategy.
The team and the role
As an agile project manager, you will play a hybrid role of both project manager and scrum master as needed to coach your team(s). You will collaborate with cross functional teams, stakeholders and sponsors across multiple geographies within the global product development community. You will focus on supporting your assigned teams, facilitating, and collaborating across teams to deliver projects to meet the Product Management organization’s portfolio commitments. As a servant leader, your role would include agile coaching and mentoring as well as establishing a continuous plan of action to improve the team’s success toward commitments and goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Formal presentation of program status. Establish and regularly review key team metrics including resourcing, and performance trends planning cadence.
- Work with product owners and other stakeholders to ensure team alignment with commitments to the businesses and sync points with other teams.
- Be accountable for escalating and ensuring resolution to program issues to stakeholders, dealing with resource constraints, and managing timing challenges and syncing dependencies across teams.
- You will help define scope and schedule while focusing on timely delivery of value within the product roadmap. Within this role, you would drive team planning, working meetings, stakeholder communication, risk and dependency management. You would also provide options to correct deviations from the plan and focus on timely delivery of projects within Sphera’s product portfolio.
- Manage and communicate the implementation of significant changes to planning objectives, schedule, and product configuration to internal and external stakeholders.
- Accept and manage changing priorities and address issues quickly and professionally.
- As an agile coach you will manage and optimize the flow of work through the principles of agility, facilitate the team planning sessions and other agile activities, and most importantly be the agile advocate and mentor of the team!
- Manage software release activities and documentation, including coordination with all applicable stakeholders.
- Provide team status reports highlighting accomplishments, plans, and issues across all assigned teams.
Qualifications
- Experience in all phases of the software/project lifecycle, interfacing both with technical teams and business users spanning multiple geographies.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Experience with scaling agile teams is preferred.
- ·Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, familiarity with agile software development tools such as Jira, MS Project Boards.
- CSM highly desirable, PMP is recommended.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Adept in problem-solving and resolving conflict.
- 4+ years of Strong Scrum Master experience working directly with multiple agile teams.
- Outstanding time management and organization skills.
- Experience managing programs/projects in highly matrixed agile software development cultures with practical experience and working knowledge of full cycle DevOps teams.
- ·Microsoft Project and Excel.
