YOUR PROFILE
You are recognized for your ability to put together technology and resources in an agile project management environment, delivering IT solutions quickly across various business units. You have a hands-on approach with a result-oriented mindset. You are a either tech lead or a top sysadmin with a tick for DevOps. You use windows only because Office doesn't work well on Linux, but the first thing you installed was cygwin; you run Mac because feels like Linux, but in reality you have a Linux laptop when things get serious. You write a little piece of java, python, nodejs, or bash to scrap data from the web and put it in your postgresql database, or push it into an API somewhere on the web. Then you set up a cron job to make it work every day. Json is your second language, although you tolerate CSV files and even XML when you are in a good mood. The first thing you look at in a product is its APIs and database. You have no problems running SQL from a command line or in a nice IDE. You can setup a Nifi server to help you move data around. You can set up some webservices integrated with Twilio (or similar) so you can send an SMS to activate your home alarm. You quickly understand how all systems in the company work together, and talk to each other; and you can always draw a map on a whiteboard to define how a new one can interconnect in a reliable way. You can always pull up a trick to use AWS or Azure services to solve an integration problem. The only thing that prevents you from sleeping at night is an unsolved problem. You are admired by your teammates for your recursive ability to solve them. Learning is a natural state for you, and if you are not learning you fall asleep.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
If you are ready to take the next step, you will be part of the Information Technology department at Enerkem Inc. and will help the team build a company, its architecture and help drive the future of its IT systems. You will report to the Director of Business Applications, lead the New IT Services Implementation team and work alongside other leaders in other disciplines whose objective is also to deliver the best results in a timely manner to our stakeholders.

Your Role And Responsibilities Will Be The Following
  • Initiate projects to solve business needs, by integrating SaaS solutions, databases, internal systems, and other technology components.
  • Select the most effective (technically and economically) architecture for each solution, with the future IT architecture in mind.
  • You will be a very important stakeholder of the IT team that defines the future enterprise architecture and its evolution.
  • Ensure coordination with other IT leaders to secure resources when needed.
  • Help program managers, when needed, to evolve their existing solutions.
  • Work with your team to engage resources from IT and the business to execute the projects using an agile approach.
  • Drive a team that ensures project delivery and subsequent rollover to a selected program manager that will ensure its proper operation and evolution.
  • Solve technical challenges hands-on and lead your team by example.
  • Discuss with different business leaders and find the requirements for the solution and its priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in engineering, information technology, or in a related field of activities.
  • Communicate effectively in both French and English, written and spoken.
  • You embrace teamwork, you are creative, and you love technology.
  • Ideally, but not required, experience leading software development projects in an agile environment; and experience developing software.
  • Acute problem solving skills, strong technical knowledge on integration tools. Development languages (i.e., Java, Python, NodeJS) is a strong plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to engage comfortably with people from all levels of the organization.
  • High sense of urgency and responsibility to drive projects from start to end.
  • Minimum experience of 3 years leading teams.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing enterprise architectures, including integrating databases, SaaS, APIs, authentication & authorization, and similar technologies.
  • Adapt rapidly to change.
