Manager Of Annual Giving, Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation

Strategic Fit
As the Foundation embarks on a new strategic plan in 2023 aimed at doubling our revenues in three years, Annual Giving will be the bedrock of our fundraising. Annual Giving activities are the driver for prospect identification, and current donor activation and retention through customer delight. As we seek to develop new and innovative prospect identification methods, leverage social media, and activate our community of supporters, we are seeking a gifted and driven team player.
Responsibilities
Tier One:

• Develops Annual Planned Giving Strategy and expectancy tracking
• Implement and manage the Annual Giving Program, as directed by the Chief Development Officer (CDO), including campaign concepts, scheduling, on-line giving, content creation, list generation, generating reports, liaising with designers, printers, and mail houses for all appeals for the Annual Campaign including the twice yearly core appeals and up to six secondary appeals plus Giving Tuesday.
• In partnership with the Manager of Code Brew and with Hospital Engagement, develop an Employee Giving Program – to include education and floor visits, all designed to build awareness within NRGH
• Work with the Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Grants to support optimum use of the Foundation’s database to enhance annual fund activities
• Develop and implement strategies and actions for donor acquisition, including campaign design, managing reports and analytics to ensure key acquisition metrics and donor revenue goals are met
• With the CDO and CEO design and implement an overarching strategy for creating a sense of mindful community amongst Foundation supporters
• Develop a Monthly Giving recognition strategy
• Develop and nurture strong relationships with current and prospective donors and liaise with the CDO and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop and implement strategies which successfully move donors to higher giving categories; this will include face-to-face meetings to deepen engagement and to help determine key donor interests.
• Work with the Development Team to ensure fundraising revenue targets are met and/or exceeded while expenses are managed within approved budgets
• Actively seek ways to integrate all campaign activities across the Foundation to ensure brand consistency, integration of offers and communications
• Supports managing contractors for social media, design, and communications of all annual campaign activities
• Work with the CEO and CDO to develop a comprehensive Grateful Patient Program
• Plans annual donor luncheons and events

Tier Two:

• Work with the Manager, Corporate & Community Engagement to support special events in the Community
• Develop and manage the fundraising expense budget for annual programs
• Work with the contractor to ensure the Foundation’s website is up to date and continuously reviewed for content quality and timeliness
• Stay abreast of current industry trends and technology
• Work with contractors to support the two subsidiary businesses to enhance business initiatives including mailings, brochures, posters, handouts, print ads
• Data analysis for Events, Annual Campaign, and Appeals
• Develop a donor engagement measurement system to track non monetary engagement
• Develop and manage Donor Newsletters and Donor Stewardship Impact Reports
• Ensure detailed donor records are kept and track prospect management with the Foundation’s database

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Chief Development Officer.
Anticipated Annual Revenue
The Manager will be responsible for an annual giving revenue target for FY 2023 of $750,000.
Requirements
Skills

• Event management experience
• Demonstrated success in strategic thinking and project management
• Project and campaign management experience
• Working knowledge of Donor Bill of Rights & Donor Privacy Act
• Experience in leading & integrating Social Media mediums
• Experience in managing a diverse portfolio of donors, volunteers and stakeholders
• Proven track record of successfully growing and fostering donor support through various appeals
• Budget management experience in all aspects of various annual appeals
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications:

• Professional certification (CFRE) or equivalent
• Experience with Raisers Edge database and Raisers NXT (or similar donor database software)
• Min 5 years in a donor-centric development role
• Positive team player, passionate about making a difference in Health Care & Philanthropy
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Benefits
Work format: Hybrid.
The salary range for the position is $70,000 to $80,000, with a comprehensive benefit package, including a defined pension plan, extended health and dental plan, and life insurance.
