The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Stores, the District Manager is responsible for building and retaining a high-performing and diverse team, along with a tailored succession plan for leadership within the region. Based full-time in Vancouver, BC, the District Manager will be accountable for 12 business units across the province of British Columbia, including several combo stores with Store Leaders. The successful candidate will lead by example and nurture a strong team dynamic to foster the continuous development of brand loyalty.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- A propensity to develop and lead change
- 3+ years of multi-unit management OR similar high-volume big-box retail experience as a Store Manager
- Proven ability to build and lead business initiatives
- Access to a personal vehicle with the ability to travel throughout the province of British Columbia regularly
- Excellent organizational & customer service skills
- Accountability to both team and financial goals
- Proven ability to align and inspire individuals while fostering a culture of teamwork
- Strong understanding of sales development strategies
- Proven ability to foster the development of self and others with a commitment to succession planning
- Must exhibit strong leadership qualities
- Active listening skills combined with strong mentorship and coaching capabilities are required.
- Excellent communication skills with a propensity to develop and lead change
Responsibilities of the Position
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Comply and enforce all Human Resources procedures, policies, controls, training and administrative paperwork
- Provide timely communications regularly to the Director of Stores/Human Resources on all aspects of the business and scope or responsibilities
- Display an effective management style and leadership by example in all responsibilities.
- Develop strong partnerships within the organization, both field and corporate.
- Understand and comply with Health and Safety Standards
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages feedback and innovation
- Exemplify leadership by developing organizational capability and modelling how teams work together.
- Provide a positive working environment.
- Act as a leader among peers in the field

OPERATIONS
- Streamline store operations to increase efficiency and output
- Achieve results without compromising the quality or integrity of work
- Adapt and respond to digital technologies and requirements
- Control expenses to drive overall profitability within the region
- Identify unique product opportunities to enhance regional sales by listening to customers
- Support Store Managers in developing their team and succession strategies
- Drive execution of in-store and online marketing strategies
- Possess and operate region with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Develop strategic, operational plans, manage execution, and measure results
- Regularly visit all locations to ensure all team needs are met
- Monitor and measure financial, operational, human resources and customer service results
- Analyze the business and create/communicate clear action plans that optimize results
- Drive brand loyalty by connecting with the customer experience
- Identify and establish virtual communication and training for remote stores across the region
- Follow up consistently to ensure accountability to plans
- Hold teams accountable for achieving goals set out together
