Are you passionate about protecting the environment and public health? Do you have exceptional client engagement, compliance management, analytical, problem solving and time management skills? The Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) is seeking a Manager, Member Engagement and Compliance, to join our team.
HPSA is a non-profit organization committed to facilitating safe disposal programs (stemming from Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) related regulatory requirements) for unwanted medications and used medical sharps, on behalf of its member pharmaceutical manufacturers. As the primary contact between Members and HPSA, you will serve as an ambassador for the organization, building and maintaining relationships with existing and newly recruited Members.
You will ensure that:
- All members’ reporting and remitting requirements are promptly and accurately fulfilled.
- Companies subject to the EPR-related regulatory requirements, yet not Member of HPSA, are engaged, informed on their requirements, and proposed to join HPSA.

This position reports directly to the Vice-President Stewardship Programs and offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health and the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote adherence to provincial environmental stewardship obligations through the development of a recruitment/outreach strategy (Identify potential members, a ssess eligibility, support application process and onboarding).
- Develop an effective member engagement strategy to ensure the highest quality of member support, continuous improvement and the sharing of policies, rules, contractual requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain policy documents, processes, guidebooks, and corresponding compliance check protocols for HPSA members.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and accurate membership records.
- Manage, maintain, and propose updates to the Members Portal.
- Work with the Communications team to prepare timely communications to members including newsletter, or presentation materials.
- Develop and maintain metrics and prepare monthly reporting on member engagement and compliance effectiveness and efficiency including registration, reporting and remitting statistics.
- Manage day-to-day aspects of member support by addressing queries, concerns, and any membership-related issues (members’ portal, policies, processes, education on provincial regulations and corresponding requirements for compliance, reporting, and payment).
- Manage member ad hoc committees.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages are required.
- Drafting various types of documents (strategy, procedures, reports, etc…).
- Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing regulations, and explaining regulatory requirements for non-legal people.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience (stakeholder engagement, compliance, audit, legal, risk management, regulatory affairs).
- Prior experience in producer responsibility organization, environmental compliance/stewardship is an asset.
- Previous experience in managing customers and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Post-secondary education.

- Versed with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM
