Your New Role

The Finance Manager, Project Accounting is a highly collaborative role interacting with teams in Development, Construction, Finance, Accounting, Sales and Leasing. Reporting to the VP you will take a lead on project reporting, financial analysis, operational budgeting and other key information for the purpose of enhancing management reporting and decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to company policies, accuracy of transactions and accounts across departments.
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor proforma budget performance, analyzing variances, conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess potential outcomes based on market conditions.
• Handle joint venture and limited partnership financial reporting responsibilities.
• Prepares loan draw reports and coordinate monthly progress draws.
• Deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership with valuable insights and recommendations based on analyses.
• Update income and cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with annual goals.
• Assist with other day-to-day accounting functions as needed.
• Compile year-end audit working papers, liaise with auditors, help prepare partnership and corporate tax returns.
• Collaborate across departments to analyze forecasts, track project progress, and communicate updates to the sales and marketing teams, provide financial insights & recommendations for optimized capital allocation and alignment with company goals.
• Prepare financial statements and internal management reports for a portfolio of companies and projects.

What Sets You Apart

The ideal candidate will have the following experiences and characteristics:

• CPA designation is considered advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of real estate construction financing.
• A post-secondary degree in business, real estate, finance, or other relevant areas of study.
• Past work experience at public practice is preferable.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to also be hands on with projects to ensure all work is executed effectively.
• Experience in JV and LP reporting.
• Expert level analytical and financial modeling skills with at least 6+ years of real estate development related experience, ideally with master-planned communities.
• Excellent presentation skills.
