Job Description
The successful candidate will independently manage the daily activities of a team of Law clerks in our Securities practice group. They will have a strong work ethic, be collaborative, professional, adaptable and positive and interested in their work.
Hours of work are from 9 am to 5 pm. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet client needs. This will be a hybrid role.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis.
  • Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments.
  • Handling all administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, Processing incoming and outgoing mail, preparing expense reports, reconcile VISA tracking spreadsheets, processing of invoices and disbursements.
  • Providing backup coverage in the absence of other assistants.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system as well as providing appropriate reminders.
  • Under legal professional supervision, preparing initial drafts of correspondence, documents based on precedents and/or instructions.
Required Knowledge And Experience
  • Experience with SEDAR, SEDI, the Ontario Securities Commission and the National Registration Database would be an asset.
  • In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology.
  • Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk course
  • Strong technical skills using MS Office
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a law firm
  • Experience working with 3E, Worksite DMS, Corplink
Supervision
This role has a dual reporting relationship with the Law Clerks in the share and the Manager, Legal Assistant Services.
