Senior Paralegal Jobs

Position Overview

The Senior Paralegal provides litigation support to meet the needs of TCR and its clients.

In this role, the Senior Paralegal works collaboratively with the Branch Manager, General Counsel, Executive Leadership Team, and support staff within the legal department and the organization as a whole.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, flawless communication skills, punctuality and reliability, and solid working knowledge of civil litigation.

This is an on-site, full-time, permanent position, Monday to Friday in North York and reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Responsibilities

• Contact debtors to negotiate payment of outstanding accounts
• Negotiate payment plans and payment schedules in accordance with the debtor’s financial situation and our clients’ directives
• Conduct searches to locate debtors
• Commence legal action if necessary
• Perform administrative tasks and clerical duties as required
• Draft pleadings and attend court as necessary

Requirements

• Stable work history
• Experience in the collections industry is an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
• P1 License in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks and competing priorities
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative as required
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Prior litigation experience
