Junior Project Purchasing Coordinator

The position operates in the area of bid analysis, selection of suppliers, engineered equipment, contract administration, and supplier quality surveillance. The purchasing Coordinator will partner with the Purchasing Manager for site purchasing and material control.
What you possess:

• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with major suppliers, vendors and other representatives.
• Provide training and conduct procurement related audits to ensure procedures are followed.
• Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings with buyouts.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history.
• Complete project planning for subcontract administration.
• Assist with Technical analysis of proposals.
• Prepare/issue Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and evaluate suppliers’ proposals to identify vendors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.
• Lead the evaluation and monitoring of contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes.
• Prepare contracts for Permanent Materials of the project.
• Leverage vendors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to project(s).
• Actively develop schedules and performance plans to meet customer and company goals and objectives.
• Prepare Comparative Charts with different proposals received.

Qualifications
What we ask for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and have a general knowledge of database utilization.
• Not necessary experience. One or two years of experience in an engineering and/or construction related role will be positively valued
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time
