Purchasing Manager Jobs

As a member of the operations management team act as a leader and supervise the activities of the purchasing department to support the production operations of the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITY:

• Create and negotiate strategies with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure product meets required standards, budgets and manufacturing timeframes
• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies and policies
• Able to analyze market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize the procurement process.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relations
• Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• As necessary assist with Inventory cycle counts, order points, stock rotations and other inventory related tasks.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Maintain effective performance under pressure and maintains a positive team attitude
• Post-secondary education in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration considered an asset
• Highly organized and sets priorities to meet deadlines
• Strong Leadership skills and the ability to train, develop and delegate
• Adapts well to changes in assignment and priorities
• Knowledge of supply chain management and ability to identify opportunities for improvement
• Comfortable with various software including MS Office, Business Central Dynamics
• 5+ years in previous manufacturing purchasing experience
• Solid interpersonal skills to build constructive relationships with suppliers & co-workers.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• May be exposed to construction sites
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
• Able to sit for extended periods
• Minimal travel will be required
