Jr Accountant Jobs

The Gift Card Accountant’s main responsibilities include completing all accounting entries and reconciling of corporate and 3rd party gift card transactions on a weekly and monthly basis. Customer support for gift card orders, inquiries, issues, and complaints as well as administrative support to stores will also be part of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

• First Data weekly liabilities uploads
• Gift certificate reconciliation
• ACH entries
• Administrative support to stores related to gift cards
• Canada and US database uploads
• Reconciling clearing accounts
• Customer support for gift card orders, inquiries, issues, and complaints
• Ad hoc tasks as required
• Blackhawk and Incomm recon file uploads
• Accrue monthly activations and payments
• Balance liabilities weekly and monthly
• Code monthly Eigen invoices
• Miscellaneous gift card related entries
• Buyatab uploads and entries
• Process gift card orders
• Follow up on variances with Blackhawk, Incomm and First Data
• Reconcile and enter Blackhawk and Incomm entries

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed Excel and Access courses would be an asset
• Completed or enrolled in accounting courses would be an asset

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and critical thinking
• Ability to handle a high volume of work during peak periods (month ends/December)
• Proficient in basic Excel formatting and functions
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate within a small team
• Time management and prioritization skills
