Position Purpose:
K’en T’em Management Corporation (KMC) and K’en T’em Limited Partnership (KTLP) are two for-profit corporations committed to providing the Nlaka’pamux people of the eight Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly (CNA) Participating Bands with the resources that will help them efficiently create, manage and operate business opportunities. We are leaders at putting cross-cultural values at the forefront of our business while prioritizing simple, efficient, integrative solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide in-house technical support to our staff, clients and members. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems and help our users install applications and programs. IT Support Specialist responsibilities include resolving network issues, configuring operating systems, arranging and setting up all computer systems to provide direct practical support. The ideal candidate is a person who is naturally a helper, enjoys assisting people with computer issues and can explain technical details simply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create internal database or external resources for staff to refer to, to provide accurate tech solutions,
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration,
- Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting,
- Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits,
- Ensure all issues are properly logged,
- Prepare accurate and timely reports,
- Other ad hoc duties as required
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate third-party,
- Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time,
- Ask users targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem,
- Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues,
- Maintain jovial relationships with clients, and
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals,
Assets:
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software, and
- BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field,
- Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco or similar technologies is a plus.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software,
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products,
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and
- A valid BC Driver's License, with access to personal vehicles is mandatory,
- Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments,
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues,
