Job Description

WearWell Garments is a Canadian, full-service manufacturer and distributer of workwear uniforms with more than 45 years experience in the industry. We serve all sectors, from mining, transportation, and utilities, to food processing and hospitality, including fire-resistant clothing.


Everything we make is produced right here at our manufacturing facility in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. From conception and design, production, inspection, and distribution -- it all happens in house, and our dedicated and highly-skilled employees oversee each step along the way.


WearWell Garments is currently recruiting a HR & Payroll Representative for our plant, based out of the Stellarton, Nova Scotia, and will report directly to the President.


The HR & Payroll Representative will be responsible for addressing the human resources requirements of the manufacturing plant in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. The incumbent will be accountable for implementing the talent acquisition strategy, managing salary administration, facilitating employee development, and full cycle payroll. Additionally, they will serve as a resource for employees, addressing their questions and concerns.


  1. Employee Relations:Administer employee relations programs, foster cooperative relationships, maintain effective communication practices, handle complaints, accidents, performance, disciplinary issues, and seasonal gifts.
  2. Talent Acquisition:Monitor staffing trends, project staffing needs, develop sourcing strategies, assist with both domestic and international recruiting, manage internal promotions and transfers, participate in interviews, and oversee onboarding activities.
  3. Salary & Benefit Administration: Make recommendations on wage, salary, and incentive decisions, oversee the Piecework Rate Program, promote, and explain benefit programs, assist employees with informed decisions, and leave of absence programs, and resolve leave of absence issues.
  4. Full Payroll Cycle: Prepare and process weekly payroll, sales commissions, reconcile and submit deductions, benefits & WCB reports, upload payslips to portal, answer payroll related questions from employees.


Qualifications


  • Efficient with Excel, have data processing skills and can effectively deal with confidential information
  • Clear understanding of payroll, benefits and taxation and an understanding of applicable legislative requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years human resources experience required, with experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities. Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with employees and managers
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Additional information:


Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000/ per annum, based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.


40 hours per week, onsite only.
