Our client is looking for an HR and Safety Administrator in Windsor, Ontario. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the support of HR administrative tasks, safety meetings, keeping up with safety records and certification, and safety training.
This is a FULL-TIME, ON-SITE role that is a great opportunity to work within a well-established construction roofing company offering competitive compensation, benefits, and career advancements.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, report and provide solutions for employee safety programs, regulatory compliance and employee health issues.
- Make sure all safety records and certifications are up-to-date
- Maintain documentation organization for: New Hires, Transfers, Promotions, Performance, and Time and Attendance. Ensure documentation reaches corporate personnel files.
- Hold JHSC meetings on a monthly basis conducted with documentation and organization.
- Provide information and training to employees about company policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities and employee benefits.
- Coach and educate all levels of management and employees on environmental safety and health regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to operating managers regarding effective accident investigation and management and return to work programs.
- Respond quickly and urgently to staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select appropriate applicants.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by fielding questions, interpreting and helping to resolve work-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Receive and review all field safety audits, and risk assessments. Complete reports as directed.
- Plan, Organize, Direct, Control and Coordinate the personnel, training, and labor relations activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Manage employee documentation and adhere to Corporate HR Policies.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policy, fair employment practices and government regulations.
- Responsible for setting up doctor appointments and escorting employee to all doctor’s visits.
- Administer New Hire Orientations, Disciplinary/Counseling Actions, and Terminations.
- Provide general guidance, direction, advice and regulatory requirements in all areas of occupational safety and health.
- Review all post-accident investigations and near misses for process and procedural improvements and follow-up with management.
Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HR and Health & Safety
- Well-organized and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources or related field required
- Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred.
- Demonstrated work knowledge with Occupational Health & Safety.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
