HR Bussiness Partner (12 Month Term)


Job location: This is a remote/hybrid position. You can work from home and be located in Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal Canada. If you are located in Ottawa you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment where you will go into the office 2-3 days per week.


About The Team


The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for partnering with senior level leaders of our Global Customer Care and Sales teams. Supporting the Lead Human Resources Business Partners for the functions, the incumbent in this role is both strategic and hands on, translating business needs into people strategies that enable the function to achieve its objectives. The HRBP will work collaboratively with their functional leaders to execute on these strategies.


In addition, this role works alongside the full HRBP compliment and HR Centre of Expertise teams, including HR Services, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Talent Management to influence, pilot, implement, and embed HR policies, programs, and initiatives within the business unit they support.


What you will do


  • Support HR Centres of Excellence in evaluating the effectiveness of HR programs and providing recommendations for changes and improvements through engaging key business stakeholders in the feedback loop
  • Analyze people reports, dashboards, and datasets to make quality, data-driven insights, recommendations, and decisions
  • Liaise with HR Centres of Expertise and HR Services in supporting the needs assessment, design, implementation, and effectiveness of people programs and practices to ensure the strategic needs of the business are fully considered
  • Facilitate and build leader capability around people programs like performance, development, and compensation reviews
  • Partner with Employee Relations and Manager Support Lead to support to coach leaders through performance management, employee relations, and investigations activities
  • Coach leaders on the consistent application of people processes, practices, and policies providing advice and guidance on embedding these across the full employee life cycle
  • Partner with the Lead HRBP to execute on and deliver key talent management programs to Senior Leaders (e.g. portfolio based talent review, portfolio based succession planning)
  • Support the Lead HRBP and Senior Leaders on business change initiatives for their portfolio leveraging enterprise-wide talent management strategies


What we are looking for


  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partnering or Generalist role supporting global teams in high growth companies, preferably in high-tech
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

  • Ability to effectively receive and communicate feedback, and support the development of an open, honest and collaborative team environment
  • Solid business acumen and analytical abilities, with demonstrated experience leveraging talent data to provide evidence-based people insights
  • Ability to understand the people implications of strategic and operating business decisions and provide input to planning for the future
  • Experience partnering sales and/or customer support teams leaders an asset
  • Experience partnering with HR Centres of Excellence in developing, enhancing, and implementing global enterprise-wide talent programs
  • Experience with communication and change management within the context of developing and implementing people programs, policies and processes
  • Highly collaborative with effective relationship building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
