Job Description

Reporting to the Buying Manager, Menswear, the Buying Administrative Assistant, Menswear is responsible for supporting the Menswear Buying team, ensuring orders and relevant reports are delivered in a timely and precise manner. They will work closely with the Buying team, operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role provides the ideal entry into buying and e-commerce, allowing the candidate to begin learning the ropes of the industry and building connections. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership and initiative with a strong sense of industry trends and appreciation for the fashion industry.

Part Time: 20 hours per week

Responsibilities

Purchase Order (PO) & Article Creation and Maintenance 60%

  • Ensure purchase orders are entered in a timely manner and in accordance with department standards
  • Liaise with the vendor community regarding purchase orders from initial order communication, through to the orders being received
  • In coordination with the Buyer, create and maintain articles within our Product Management system (PIM)
  • Partner with internal SSENSE teams regarding purchase orders including Logistics, Warehouse, and Studio
  • Review order confirmations and flag any discrepancies in a timely manner to the respective Buyer

Operation Support 40%

  • Support the Buying team on ad-hoc cross-functional requests to increase business knowledge, for example PR requests, editorial story support, seasonal-marketing
  • Support customer services and personal shopping with product and inventory enquiries, with the support of Buyers and Buying Managers
  • Generate accurate weekly inter and cross-departmental sales data reports for the Menswear Buying team
  • Provide strong follow up to the buying team on varying day-to-day operational tasks including cross-departmental communication, and in-season management needs
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides
  • Working towards a degree in Business, Buying, Merchandising, or a related field
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship
