Finance Business Partner - Global Logistics (Delco)

Location: Winnipeg, MB (Hybrid)

The Finance Business Partner - Global Logistics will form an integral part of the group commercial finance team, working with the JET Group’s Head of Finance - Global Logistics, based in London, with local support provided by the Commercial Finance team here at Skip in Winnipeg and Toronto.

You will partner closely with global and local market logistics leadership across all commercial finance, planning and reporting activities.

This role forms a critical part of the growth and maturation of a new finance team supporting the VP of Global Logistics. The role will be required to form strong relationships with regional finance teams and key non-finance stakeholders across the business (Customer Service, Product & Tech etc.)

You will have broad responsibilities, bringing analytic rigor to the evaluation of operational and financial performance of global logistics, navigating challenges from shaping long-term strategy to driving short-term performance while playing an active role in financial projects.

The role requires high attention to detail and analytical thought processes intended to drive a prosperous future — for you and JET. In addition to reporting, analysis, and general accounting, you will work alongside business leaders to deliver on financial targets, while sharing your passion for numbers and technology.

The role is perfect for an experienced finance professional who is comfortable working in a matrix-style organization with a variety of stakeholders, across multiple geographies that can handle multiple tasks and present complex issues simply and succinctly.

What’s On Your Plate

• Partner with senior leadership of the global logistics team, providing advice to stakeholders and driving accountability through accurate and timely information.
• Collaborate with local market finance teams to drive global best practice, consistency and deliver local insight
• Work with the logistics leadership team to coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process ensuring collaboration and consensus with stakeholders, markets, and FP&A.
• Maintain and update monthly KPI reporting, including commentary around monthly results and performance against budgets/forecasts.
• Build, maintain, and review data-driven models to help support financial reporting and analysis activities.
• Drive valuable insights and influence operational leadership through ad hoc analysis and decision support on strategic investments, and optimization initiatives.
• Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to influence and drive alignment across Product, Operations, and Engineering teams.
• Actively engage in the month-end financial reporting and analysis processes, completing and/or participating in review activities where appropriate.
• Perform extensive financial modeling and analysis for a variety of reporting and planning activities, including month-end analysis, strategic planning, and business cases.

Recipe For Success

• CPA designation with 4-6 years of proven operational experience.
• Experience with SQL and/or data analysis tools (Tableau/PowerBI).
• Strong sense of ownership and can dissect diverse problem statements into a set of action plans to drive the business forward.
• Experience building forecasts including complex, data-driven models.
• Entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in a fast-paced organization with competing priorities. Change to the business should be expected and welcomed, ambiguity should excite you.
• Outstanding presentation, reporting, communication, and visualization skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and curious, ability to run with an idea.
• A history of building influence and consensus across the organization from peers to key stakeholders, using data-supported insights.
• Bonus: Experience working with Workday Financial.
• Experience working within a matrix-style organization (bonus if also in a global/international environment).
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Logical analytical problem solver that is able to spot trends and indicate the key drivers behind it.
