the Role.
OLIVER is hiring an HR Partner. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the administration, growth and support of all on-site teams in North America. The HR Partner will focus on employee relations and benefits in Canada as well as support the US employee base as needed. This role will require someone who likes to work outside the box, our model is unique and so are we. The position will work under the direction of the Director of People & Culture and wear many hats. The ideal person will enjoy that each day is different than the one before. We look for candidates who view HR as strategic partners, can pivot as needed and are quick to jump in and help out. Travel may be needed from time to time.

Performance Management:
- Conduct exit interviews and provide data and analysis as needed
- Manage employee relation concerns and resolution
- Administer performance management process by training in our system, conducting follow ups, and record keeping
- Partner with managers in the business on feedback, review writing, performance improvement plans, and development plans
- Collaborate on the communication, interpretation and upkeep of employee handbook and contribute to the development of policies
- Partner on new business implementations
- Support the HR strategy and DEI initiatives
- Work on ad-hoc projects as needed
- Facilitate orientations and partner with the People Team on presentations
- On-board new employees remotely or on site in locations across Canada for a smooth new hire experience
- Review employee documentation/paperwork as needed
- Lead wellness initiatives
- Backing up on US benefits when needed
- Administer employee benefits for Canada ensuring timely benefits enrolment and terminations, while liaising between vendors and employees to resolve issues
- Administer leaves of absence (parental and disability), worker’s compensation, assist with benefit projects and respond to employee benefit questions, etc.
- Ensure benefit compliance
- Act as HR liaison between HR and Payroll for all employment events (e.g. new hires, termination, promotions, salary increases, etc.)
- Point of contact for questions related to time off
- Advise on policy and process
- Maintain personnel files, including documentation

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Strong problem-solving skills and detail oriented
- Self-motivated and proactive attitude
- 3-5 years of progressive generalist experience in Human Resources
- 1-2 years of advertising experience preferred
- Knowledge of Canadian benefits administration
- Strong sense of customer service
- Prior experience presenting benefits to new employees both virtually and in person
- Knowledge of federal and provincial labor laws and compliance
