MaxPeople is a professional Human Resources consulting firm offering HR, Training, Recruitment and Employment Law services to clients in need of an effective people strategy to grow their business. We provide services to small and mid-size organizations with the necessary Human Resources infrastructure and the employment law services required for growth.


About Our Client


Our client Ascend Partners a trusted OneStream Diamond Implementation Global Partner is excited for their next phase of growth and is looking for a dynamic Human Resources Manager to be the primary partner and advisor to the business. The successful candidate will work closely in the implementation of processes, policies and programs that drive organizational effectiveness.


What you will do:


Leadership


  • Stays connected and informed on workplace trends and HR best practices and responds accordingly with recommendations to the Co-founds and Managing Partners collaborating with external partners as needed
  • Develop a strong working relationship across the organization and be viewed internally as a credible and knowledgeable resource amongst staff.
  • Plays an active role in the communication of specific HR related initiatives across the organization
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities, providing coaching, guidance, and direction to the Ascend Leadership team.


Employee Relations and Compliance


  • Assists managers with coaching, performance discussions, follow-up on timelines and ensuring that all employees’ Goals and/or Development Action Plans are identified
  • Provides support and assistance in the termination process, both voluntary and involuntary
  • Maintains and updates various HR reports including, among other metrics, turnover, recruitment and headcount and work with senior management to develop appropriate action plans to address identified needs
  • Assists in conducting workplace investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth and escalating to the Managers or the CEO, when required
  • Conducts and completes analysis of employee engagement survey results and develops recommendations to improve scores. Rolls out programs in conjunction with VP Finance and General Manager and external partners (as required)
  • Communicates and enforces all HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations.
  • Composes annual Training Calendar and ensures training requirements are met based on needs analysis at Ascend
  • Provides recommendations on employee relations practices with a view to establishing a positive employee-employer relationship and promoting a high level of employee engagement
  • Supports Ascend’s performance management process to ensure continuous performance improvement and the implementation of best practices.
  • Owns employee engagement initiatives such as rewards and recognition programs and charitable events
  • Conducts quarterly benefits analysis (trends, usage, etc.)
  • Facilitates training sessions as required.
  • Responds to employee inquires in a timely manner and provides proactive solutions to day-to-day challenges.
  • Identifies vertical and lateral opportunities for advancement or progression for employees, understanding the skills, experiences, and personal and professional competencies necessary for success in each new role
  • Assists with disability management type cases to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to


Recruitment and Onboarding


  • Prepares Employment Agreements and ensures that reference checks and background checks are completed for all final candidates
  • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes exit interview trends to summarize and present them to Management
  • Onboards and manages the orientation of all new employees and ensures employees receive proper training.
  • Oversees the full recruitment cycle for all positions across the organization including developing recruitment strategies (e.g., sourcing candidates, assisting hiring managers conduct interviews, etc.)
  • Conducts recruitment research on best practices in the marketplace and ensure the use of cost-effective external resources


HR Reporting

Requirements


What we require:


  • University Degree. Possession of or working towards a Professional HR designation preferred
  • Strong critical decision-making and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of the design and application of HR management policies, best practices, and employment legislation etc
  • Values-based approach operating with a high level of integrity.
  • Proficiency in technology (e.g., Microsoft office, cloud storage, video conference software)
  • Minimum 5 years Human Resources Management experience; preferably in a technology or Professional Services firm
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • A strong and engaging collaborator with a focus on relationship building and maintaining a positive organizational culture
