Event Coordinator, Youth and Volunteer Experience


The Events Coordinator, Youth and Volunteer Experience will work with national Let’s Talk Science staff, local event coordinators and event partners to plan and direct the execution of Let’s Talk Science events such as symposiums and competitions. The incumbent will support partnerships with organizations who collaborate or support these events. This could include virtual and/or in-person events.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience working with post-secondary students, volunteers, educators and youth
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
  • Previous involvement with Let’s Talk Science an asset
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (event management, communication, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), education, or event planning) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of related experience, including with event logistics; experience with supporting online events
  • Experience leading a project or program
  • Significant experience developing and/or delivering learning experiences for pre-K-12 students
  • Experience working with relevant technology products, platforms and services
  • Willingness to travel to various locations in Canada
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, inclusion and sustainability in education
