Job Description

General Coordinator of the Organization

Autism House is looking for its next general coordinator of the organization.

Autism House is a non-profit organization acting for the collective good of the Autism community. The mission of the Autism House is to encourage autonomy and active participation in the community of autistic adults to improve their quality of life. Aligned with its mission, Autism House is conceiving and building a “transition experiential learning platform” for young autistic adults to reach the level of autonomy necessary for living autonomously. Many such young adults have the potential to do so, but the reality is that many young autistic adults, almost three quarters of those 18 to 35 year olds, according to our scientific research “A Home in the Community”, remain at home under the care of their family with little pathways or opportunities for that to change.

At the Autism House, we encourage neuro-divergent applications. If you are concerned, please indicate it in your cover letter. Accommodations will be possible for the hiring process as well as for employment. The selection process will have an interview, but also a written test to validate certain skills.

The general coordinator assumes the responsibility of being the first point of contact between our organization and the autism community, may it be autistic adults or parents of autistic people. The general coordinator is also in charge of maintaining the link between the various projects of the organization, the link between the board of directors and the work team, the links with our partners, as well as the link between our services and their users. The general coordinator works in collaboration with the general manager and the other employees on the files of consultation, governance, administration, and fundraising.

  • Knowledge of the autism community (asset)
  • Master IT tools (Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Wix, Mailchimp)
  • Bilingualism required
  • Organization, resourcefulness, dynamism and autonomy
  • Write professional texts in French and English

Condition of work:
