Director, Product and Analytics
As a member of the Marketing, Communications and Strategic Planning department, this position is responsible for overseeing product management, research and analytics, and strategic partnerships with the goal of business development and revenue growth. The successful applicant will lead and mentor a team of two marketing specialists. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer and as a member of the BlueShore senior leadership team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of our business strategy and sustaining our positive corporate culture. Key responsibilities of this role are:
Product Management
- Develop and execute business plans to increase adoption and revenue
- Manage, monitor and maintain product performance on an ongoing basis and conduct opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts
- Define business and technical requirements and manage the relationships between technical resources and business needs
- Provide oversight on the implementation of price changes made by the Pricing Committee
- Develop product strategy and execute roadmaps to ensure maximum penetration of market segments
- As a voting member of the Pricing Committee, deliver strategic guidance on the development of pricing change recommendations and the management of semi-annual service fee reviews to ensure market positioning
- Provide direction on the development of product positioning messages in conjunction with Marketing Communications
- Identify and evaluate market and segment opportunities and pricing strategies
- Manage strategic partnerships with suppliers of products BlueShore Financial resells (e.g. market-linked term deposits, etc.) from a product marketing and sales support perspective
Research and Analytics
- Manage and develops the full-cycle online client research panel
- Oversee and in collaboration with the business intelligence team contributes to the production and ongoing enhancement of regular reports and analysis utilizing internal and external datasets
- Responsible for developing annual research strategy and execution plan aligned with business and marketing goals
- Develop and implement communication plans to convey research findings and link them to business strategies
- Oversee relationships with all external research companies and consultants to ensure commitments (deliverables, timelines) are met in all engagements
- Analyze key qualitative and quantitative research findings to identify patterns, trends, solutions; provide actionable recommendations to inform business strategies and tactics
- Oversee all ongoing research programs and ad hoc research initiatives
- Develop and manages the Marketing Research budget.
Partnerships
- Develop and manage partnerships strategy and successful execution of new and maintenance of existing partnerships
- Build long-term relationships with partners and educates them on BlueShore Financial’s brand strategy and value proposition
- Identify opportunities, develops business case recommendations and collaborates with internal stakeholders
Other
- Manage direct report(s); participates in the recruitment and selection of new staff; develop individual and department goals; evaluate staff performance using performance management system; initiate salary reviews as required; recognize and reward employees; take corrective action as required.
- Proactively coaches (through group and one-on-one sessions) and develop employee(s) to assist them in achieving career success and growth. Provide development opportunities for staff through various sources including learning sessions, internal and external training, and education courses. Ensure each employee has a learning plan in place and results are achieved.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with SQL and SharePoint would be considered an asset
- Solid analytical capabilities, including insight development and executive-level performance reporting, with experience using various data and research platforms
- Experience in the financial services sector and knowledge of financial products
- Solid project management experience
- Experience in product and pricing is required. Experience with deposits, propensity modelling and campaign development will be considered a strong asset
- Ability to model data, specifically with P&L, pricing and propensity metrics
- Post-secondary education in business or a related field and 7-10 years of product marketing, research and insights experience. Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay Transparency
Pay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.
The target range of this role is $110,000 - $140,000/year, plus competitive variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
