Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team the Director, Partnerships plays an important role furthering Prince’s Trust Canada’s (PTC) mission, vision, and strategy.
PTC partners with employers and community partners to help youth and Veterans find meaningful employment through training and mentorship.
Core to our success is finding engaged employer partners who take corporate social responsibility seriously and care about investing in the next generation and/or Veterans and building a resilient workforce with the skills to power Canada’s economy.
The Director, Partnerships (DP) therefore, needs to be a dot-connector who has their finger on the pulse of industry in Canada and knows who Canada's top employers are, which companies are venturing into thought leadership, and which companies are walking the walk when it comes to corporate social responsibility.
The DP needs to be good with people and comfortable fostering and nurturing relationships with our community partners who have the relationships "on the ground" with the youth and Veterans that we seek to help.
The DP will be responsible for creating a national partnership strategy, developing and managing a prospect list and managing partner relationships for PTC.
The role requires an organized and intrepid salesperson who is all about thinking big, working a network, opportunity generating, connecting mandates, taking initiative and closing the deal on behalf of Canada’s equity-seeking youth and Veterans.

- Oversee the development and review of materials, tools, and resources to support partnership development and management across the stages of partnership.
- Review and update periodically with the CEO and Controller, the partnership approval process, and all compliance requirements for new and existing partners.
- Identify areas requiring adjustment or improvement and propose approaches to address these issues.
- Organize and coordinate joint planning sessions and focus groups with new partners to obtain feedback about new and existing programs for continuous improvement purposes.
- Lead the development of a sustainable long-term and mutually beneficial partnership strategy across multiple sectors including corporate/for-profit and non-profit organizations, educational institutions, associations, and unions. This includes scoping new partners and stewarding existing partners in all areas of the organization to meet growing targets and funder requirements.
Partnership Stewardship
- Ensure existing partners are engaged and aligned with PTC’s strategy and programming and identify opportunities to grow the existing relationship.
- Be the lead contact with identified partners according to the protocols established and obtain feedback periodically.
- Support the Programming and Fund Development teams to identify opportunities to grow and develop our business volunteering program.
- Lead and facilitate the successful transition of a new partnership relationship to the applicable team member as required.
- Coordinate and oversee the content collection and contributions to the annual report, stewardship reports and other documents, highlighting the partners who we have engaged and supported.
- Support the Public Affairs team to capture and share the national impact of our partnerships.
Other
- Participate in and lead special projects and other strategic activities as required.
