Director, Analytic Partnerships & Insights

What's the opportunity?

You will lead a team responsible for collaborating with internal and external analytic CoEs on data science projects benefitting Fraud Management, conducting analytic proofs-of-value (POVs) on prospective vendor data products (VDPs), measuring and reporting on the performance of VDPs and in-house develop machine learning models used in Fraud Management, and liaising with vendors to optimize RBC’s usage of their products for maximum value capture. Your team will work with partners to develop and/or maintain fraud risk models and features (Data Solutions) that contribute to DSA’s efforts to optimize performance across the pillars of fraud loss, operating cost, client experience, and risk framework.

What will you do?

• Identify, research and escalate performance issues, ensuring management awareness and appropriate action, work with partners to fix model performance issues and be the primary contact for third-party data solution providers
• Lead a team of data scientists and analysts, providing direction and structure, and enabling their success through guidance and mentorship
• Lead collaboration with Data Science teams on analytic POCs and initiatives benefitting Fraud Management, and develop a backlog of ideas well-suited for cross-team collaboration
• Oversee the analytic development of risk scoring models/data products, work with Fraud IT to ensure implementability and validate results of initiatives to ensure they will deliver real world benefits
• Improve performance monitoring and governance reporting on VDPs and risk scoring models, design and build automated reporting with appropriate metrics and establish thresholds for automated alerts on model performance
• Assess feasibility and estimate potential Fraud benefits of potential products, determine priorities and ensure appropriate resourcing for partner collaborations
• Lead the data insights function for Fraud Management which generates actionable insights from data
• Lead the design and execution of analytic Proofs of Value on Vendor Data Products, own and improve how DSA executes vendor POVs, analytic collaborations etc., ensuring quality, accuracy and efficiency

What You Need To Succeed

Must have:

• Degree in a quantitative discipline
• Experience in building strong teams and driving collaboration and execution of initiatives
• 7+ years’ experience in advanced analytics, data science or similar roles working with large, real-world datasets
• 3+ years’ experience leading people including recruitment / candidate selection, performance management, reward and recognition, retention

Nice to have:

• Fraud Management experience
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline
