Job Description

Director, Oil & Gas - Canada

As part of the Canadian Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Oil & Gas is responsible for developing and managing an ambitious, high-performing team in the Energy sector. The primary objective of this position is to lead the team to success as they deliver the regional sales strategy, while building and maintaining their own personal client portfolio. The successful candidate will drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing strategies to increase recruitment effectiveness and client acquisition.


Management Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building overseeing the Oil & Gas division
  • Support the sales team with RFPs acquired, utilizing Brunel’s Marketing and Commercial teams for support
  • SME for Brunel’s service offering regionally and globally – identify and promote cross-selling opportunities when applicable
  • Responsible for driving the Canadian sales strategy and acting as a focal point for communications regarding sales & recruitment activities
  • Responsible for internal hiring, training, and development of the team
  • Responsible for setting objectives, KPIs, conducting monthly one-to-ones, and annual reviews
  • P&L ownership - work closely with VP to develop the annual budget and work with Oil & Gas team to ensure these objectives are met
  • Develop a Business Development team to analyze the market, identify prospective clients, and ensure Brunel’s strategy is aligned to bring top results
  • Continually strive to improve recruitment performance and ensure the team has all tools and training required to deliver results
  • Encourage and lead CRM activities by example
  • Provide a hands-on approach with the Recruitment Consultants with any day-to-day requirements and challenging searches
  • Guide the team with a KPI approach, providing support as required
  • Support the team with client and candidate rate calculations, and overall pricing strategy for the division


Sales Responsibilities

  • Responsible for meeting personal KPI objectives set annually
  • Responsible for bringing in RFI/RFPs
  • Represent Brunel at professional networking events and strive to always stay ahead of the competition
  • Identify and secure attractive opportunities in the Oil & Gas sectors and cultivate lasting relationships to grow customer loyalty
  • Strive to continually increase Brunel’s footprint with legacy clients, current clients, and new prospects


Requirements

  • Professional knowledge of the recruitment industry
  • 10+ years of work experience in a sales/recruitment environment
  • Ambitious and self-motivated individual, with a proven track record of finding new business development opportunities with qualified prospects and clients
  • Positive attitude with the ability to motivate team members
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate effective communication and leadership skills
  • Strong leadership skills and proven track record of leading and coaching successful teams
  • Ability to promote relevant services and solutions to Brunel’s clients
  • Capacity to manage various projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel as needed
