Analyst, Oil Movements Jobs

Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Oil Movements Analyst role will report to the Supervisor of Volumetric Accounting and is a key member of Inter Pipeline’s Oil Movements department.The successful candidate will be responsible for the volumetric accounting, analysis and reporting requirements for Inter Pipeline’s conventional and oil sands pipeline systems. In addition, this position provides ongoing management of shipper balances, producer statements and equalization statements.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

• Ensure customer queries are handled in a professional and timely manner
• Compile and send Production Activity Reports, along with Petrinex reporting on a monthly basis
• Calculate volumetric information from gauge reports, truck tickets, pipeline tickets, and other measurement reports that are gathered from the operators, business units and delivery systems
• Liaise with the Accounting department to ensure automatic, manual and miscellaneous invoicing is accurate
• Enter ticket information for the Oil Sands pipelines, ensuring accuracy and completeness for month end reporting
• Liaise with the Commercial Services department to ensure all reporting requirements are accurate on a monthly basis
• Validate data to ensure accuracy and completeness of crude oil account information, while interacting frequently with pipeline schedulers
• Liaise with the Commercial Operations department ensuring required tariff changes and new implementations are completed accurately
• Collaborate with administrators in field offices to ensure tickets, volume adjustments and other deadlines are completed
• Monitor pipeline quality information as it comes in to ensure it meets the pipeline specifications and ensure testing methods meet the industry standards
• Liaise with the Measurement department to ensure the accuracy of volume and quality information used for customer statements
• Ensure all reporting and processes are in compliance with applicable government requirements
• Enter production splits and prepare equalization statements for customers on a monthly basis

Education, Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• University degree or diploma, Business-related preferred
• Advanced level for MS Office; strong excel skills will be an asset
• Two or more years of related industry experience
• Experience working with Petrinex for government reporting
• Understanding of the industry practices such as COLC Calendar and the Equalization Procedure Guidelines
• Demonstrable strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and communicate business analytics

Hours:

Full Time, Monday – Friday
