POSITION OVERVIEW:
As the Director of Finance and Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all financial and accounting activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the company's financial health, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and profitability. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, exceptional financial acumen, and a deep understanding of manufacturing industry dynamics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with executive management in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning to drive profitability and efficient resource allocation.
2.Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses.
3.Accounting Management:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, and facilitate timely audits.
4.Cost Management:
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to streamline processes and reduce expenses.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor manufacturing costs, identifying areas for cost optimization without compromising product quality.
5.Financial Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial laws and industry best practices, making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
6.Cash Flow Management:
- Manage the company's cash flow to meet operational needs and long-term financial commitments.
- Establish effective treasury practices to optimize cash utilization and investments.
7.Team Leadership:
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and teamwork.
8.Financial Risk Management:
- Implement appropriate risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, interest rate exposures, and credit risks.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A strong sense of integrity and ethical conduct in handling financial matters.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position in a manufacturing company.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, cost accounting, and supply chain finance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software for efficient data management and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a strategic mindset to drive financial initiatives and process improvements.
