Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Information Technology, the incumbent is a key member of our Finance team, overseeing the daily accounting operations for the organization, and providing guidance on strategic financial decisions for the Company’s financial health. You are flexible and adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role will require very strong analytical, advanced financial and business acumen to deliver on the requirements of the role. Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task while meeting tight deadlines and handling large volumes of work, are just a handful of the skills required. The incumbent embraces a great team spirit through effective collaboration, and is highly effective in leading and managing a team to get the work completed. Main Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on-time by the team
- Responsible for all accounting and reporting activities including month-end consolidation and annual close
- Oversee daily banking reports, loan tracking, and BA/ Libor loan reports
- Prepare a full set of detailed annual year-end working papers for review by VP of Finance and IT prior to annual external audit
- Present financial reports to executives, shareholders, investors and other stakeholders
- Lead, support, and develop the accounting team while driving efficiency and automation to keep up with the demands of our diverse business
- Oversee inventory control procedures , including counts, forecasts and valuations.
- Ensure Company Core values are upheld, and that Goals and Objectives are set with corresponding measurables
- Own the GL and recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, while ensuring compliance with local accounting requirements and internal policies
Forecasting, Budgeting and Planning
- Build and manage the monthly forecast, annual budget, and 3-year business planning processes including overseeing its consolidation and preparing budget presentations
- Plan and provide input into corporate strategic financial plans and track key performance indicators
- Ensure that appropriate action is taken to secure the timely and effective implementation of objectives, strategies and policies of Finance and Administration department
- Develop and implement key systems, planning procedures, control instruments and reporting to support aggressive growth strategy
Financial Analysis and Modeling
- Provide advice on and carry-out financial due diligence on any potential merger and acquisition activity, lead integration planning, and provide financial analysis as applicable
- Create dashboards for management review of business performance
- Analyze and interpret balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and liabilities
- Develop strategies to increase return on investment and profitability
- Coordinate and record investments and oversee fixed asset records and maintenance
- Connect with IT implementation projects (from a financial perspective) and other projects expanding the use of technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, reporting and profitability
Compliance, Reporting and Audits
- Consolidate global financial results (including non-controlling interests)
- Drive the business forward by implementing best in class processes and financial controls to mitigate financial risk to the business
- Monitor and ensure compliance with GAAP standards and/or regulatory rules, including implementation of any changes
- Actively manage and monitor for discrepancies and variances to provide root cause analysis and proactive corrective action
- Ensure company-wide adherence to corporate and accounting policies and procedures
- Adhere to all financial/ accounting and regulatory requirements for reporting and tax purposes

Must-Have

- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of success
- Certified Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
- Results-driven, goal-oriented mindset
- General aptitude to adopt and use new technologies
- Skilled at strategic and critical thinking and exercises sound judgment when making decisions, while effectively anticipating and resolving problems
- Solid experience in corporate finances, consolidations, auditing, and performance management
- Experience with international banking and in building appropriate financial relationships
- Adept and well versed in international financing and business reporting, experience in mergers and acquisition, and of transactions in multiple currencies
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and industry regulations
- Well-developed analytical skills with an ability to perform insightful and meaningful analysis on large amounts of data
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP
- Experience with Business Analytics and Information Technology considered a plus
- Hands-on experience with Epicor BisTrack or a similar ERP system
- Foundational knowledge and/or experience in a manufacturing environment
- Relevant industry experience (millwork, lumber or building materials)
- MBA or other advanced degree
