Brenn-B-Farms is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Director of Finance at our Waterdown, Ontario location.

Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s long-term financial health and growth. They will: establish strategies that will earn profits, oversee accounting operations, produce accurate reports and find opportunities to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute monthly reports to the president and leadership team and prepare and support year-end statements for accountants’ review.
• Be accountable for the efficient management of the accounting systems and staff operations.
• Manage and improve accounting operations such as AP, AR, payroll and treasury functions.
• Lead the development of financial plans and operational budgets.
• Write and execute grant proposals for funding opportunities.

Qualifications/Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail and results oriented
• Experience managing a company's cash flow
• Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, or Agricultural Business preferred
• Leadership and business acumen
• Desire to learn and grow in the role
• Expert level problem solver and analytical
• 5+ years of leadership experience
• Ability to take complex data and find the key metrics
• 5+ years of experience in the agricultural industry
• CA or CPA Designation an asset
