Location: Yonge & Eglinton Centre; Toronto, ON

Employment Type: Contract (18 Months) | Full-Time

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in office)

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be the key partner between the Tenants and our Construction teams which will in turn strengthen the relationship with the Tenants in RioCan’s portfolio. A Tenant Coordinator is part of the Tenant Experience team and plays a key role in establishing and expanding RioCan’s Tenant Coordination Protocol throughout Development, Tenant Construction CapEx projects.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in regular Tenant Summary reports, day-to-day updates, take preventative action and address deficiencies quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide input and support to Leasing and the construction teams during Landlord Work schedule negotiations and preparation of construction documentation for Tenants
  • Support an annual Tenant Engagement survey
  • Guarantee strict adherence to scope of negotiated leases and ensure compliance with Company policies and project guidelines.
  • Strengthen the relationships with our Tenants by providing up to date information on Construction projects
  • Provide exceptional Tenant service, acting as the Tenant contact for RioCan, exceeding expectations, establishing and maintaining effective relationships by gaining Tenant trust and confidence.
  • Act as liaison and foster consistent, positive Tenant relationships with all stakeholders on construction projects, until rent commencement
  • Monitor all Development Tenant Coordination activities in regards to budget, scheduling, cost, quality control, timelines, design and construction methodology.
  • Act as a concierge for all Tenant-related requests and distribute follow-up communications to meet corporate deadlines.
  • Solve problems in a proactive way
  • Respond to Tenant and RioCan requests in a timely matter
  • Support the Tenant Experience team


Qualifications

  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize and direct multiple projects on a concurrent basis
  • Experience with budgeting and financial controls
  • Results driven and detail oriented
  • 1-3 years previous relevant experience; retail construction management and mixed-use property experience an asset
  • University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Business or Construction
  • Thorough understanding of commercial retail construction and building construction technology
  • Experience in construction drawing reading, building codes, municipal requirements, and fire code regulations
  • Proficient in Project Online, Teams, Excel, Word, Project and Outlook
  • Proven command of lease interpretation and lease terminology; in particular Landlord Work - Schedule C
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Proven negotiator and effective persuader with exceptional problem solving skills
