We are looking for an exceptionalCompliance & Financial Aid Directorto join our team.


POSITION SUMMARY


The Compliance/Financial Aid Director supervises the Financial Aid area and its team in relation to operations, training, policy development, and compliance. They manage and coordinate the financial aid activities of Computek College for investigation and inspection to fulfill the Ministry’s regulatory role with adherence to institutional and student compliance with the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), Second Career Program policies as well as Self-Funding along with upholding the mission and vision of Computek College.


DUTIES

  • Handles the inspections of Ministry, OSAP & NACC audit and is personally accountable for compliance issues.
  • Evaluate financial aid system and provide the VP, Finance with recommendations for improving the financial aid operations.
  • Oversees financial applications and disclosure statements to ensure that complete and accurate information are provided.
  • Liaises and collaborates with all levels of Computek College as well as key external stakeholders.
  • Manages the administration of a well-established financial aid program with adherence to the regulations of the Ministry of Private Career Colleges.
  • Manages the administration of the best self-funding ways including savings, personal funds, and credit cards for our students.
  • Administering STEPS - Transcript storage
  • Oversees a team that manages the day-to-day operations and procedures of the Financial Aid areas.
  • Manages all student-related finance and accounting functions including confirmation of OSAP and Second Career program eligibility.
  • Administration of KPI Reporting to Forum Research – By session
  • Directs the administration of provincial programs and policies with regard to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) as well as the Second Career program.
  • Manages annual OSAP cost code update.
  • Supervises the interview process and ensures students are provided with information regarding the application process, their eligibility for Federal/Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) and Second Career financial assistance program as well as other available financing options.
  • Manages and coordinates with Computek College’s stakeholders in the development and establishment of operational policies and processes for the delivery of OSAP as well as the Second Career Program.
  • Responsible for directing and following compliance for every single department in Computek College to ensure regulated activities.
  • Manages the preparation of the reports for the VP, Finance and Ministry with regard to issues arising with Computek College’s regulatory and compliance role with respect to OSAP and the Second Career Program.
  • Provide recommendations to the financial aid team with respect to OSAP and Second Career funding and policies.
  • Determines compliance activities and the appropriate level of inspection and accuracy associated with OSAP and Second Career program-approved applications.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a financial aid capacity with some supervisory experience, preferably in an educational environment is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Very good knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities programs and policies is desirable
  • Great leadership skills and ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or a related field such as business administration, economics, commerce, or equivalent work experience is desirable
  • Comfortable with tracking and reporting
  • Management experience working with the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), Second Career Program, Self-Funding as well as Federal government loan programs is preferred



Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience: Supervising: 2 years (preferred)

Financial aid/OSAP: 3 years (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid
