Cfo - Chief Financial Officer

Description

Our client is in the Financial Services industry. They are seeking a highly capable Fractional - CFO/Controller (1-year contract, 1 day/week working remotely).

As Fractional – CFO/Controller you will oversee all financial processes and is responsible for ensuring timely and relevant monitoring and reporting of our company's overall financial performance. You will oversee the full accounting process, including the monthly accounting cycle, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and ensuring business policies, accounting standards, and profit objectives are met.

Job Duties

• Analyze, advise, and educate leadership/management on achieving profitability
• Advise on financial process improvement & accounting software integration
• Maintain daily accounting. Responsible for preparing account reconciliations, accruals, managing sales tax and payroll.
• Act as Corporate Secretary, preparing reports for Board meetings and participating in monthly Board meetings
• Create long-term goals for the company
• Conduct regular meetings to review cash flow forecast, budget, and month-end financials
• Prepare financial analysis and reports
• Streamline and increase efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
• Oversee cash flow and working capital management, using cash flow forecasting to make strategic and timely recommendations regarding cash position
• Accurately evaluate the financial performance of operating entities
• Coordinate and direct budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting with Senior Leadership team to develop a three-year financial plan.
• Design and implement quarterly reports

Requirements

• Comfortable leading meetings at a strategic and tactical level
• Advanced understanding of Canadian financial accounting best practices and law.
• Advanced understanding of operations and processes
• 5+ years’ experience as a CPA
• Advanced level of financial acumen, including a full understanding of common accounting software and systems (QuickBooks).
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Fractional CFO
• Ability to manage around tight deadlines and still get the details right
• 5+ years’ experience in a Controller role
