Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to contribute to the seamless financial operations of our client.


Role and Responsibilities:


As a Billing Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the firm's financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. Your responsibilities will include:


  • Addressing billing inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders with professionalism and promptness.
  • Verifying billing data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all time entries and expenses are appropriately captured and reflected in the invoices.
  • Generating billing reports and summaries for management review as needed.
  • Utilizing advanced proficiency in PC LAW software to manage billing tasks effectively.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate posting of invoices and payments into the accounting system.
  • Reconciling billing discrepancies and assisting in resolving any related issues.
  • Collaborating closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to gather and compile billing information accurately.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and generating client invoices in compliance with billing guidelines and firm policies.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of client billing guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Supporting ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as required.
  • Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes related to billing and financial reporting.
  • Participating in periodic training and development activities to stay updated on billing software and accounting practices.


Qualifications:


To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:


  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in PC LAW software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid accounting knowledge and ability to analyze financial data.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to address billing discrepancies and issues effectively.
  • Strong understanding of legal billing procedures, terminology, and client billing guidelines.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on billing experience within a law firm environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and colleagues.


Working Conditions:


  • Occasional flexibility may be required to accommodate month-end and year-end deadlines.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring the candidate to work on-site 5 days a week.
  • The Billing Coordinator will be based in the Vaughan office.
