Job Description
The Hilton Toronto is looking for a Banquet Chef to join their team! In this role you will oversee all banquet production and operations while assuring efficiency alongside our culinary team.


Appointed in downtown Toronto, this property boasts 3,300+ sq. m. of event space and 600 guest rooms, with plated meals for up to 700 guests!

The ideal candidate will:


  • Thrive in a high-volume environment with a passion for culinary excellence and incorporating current trends

  • Have previous experience in a union atmosphere, with a natural and positive approach to hospitality leadership
  • Have experience in developing and building comradery amongst teams


The preferred candidate will:


  • Posses previous high-volume banquet production
  • Posses fine dining experience in various cuisine styles


This is a Full-Time position, candidates will need full availability including: nights, weekends and holidays.

What will I be doing?


A Banquet Chef, will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage aspects of the kitchen, with a focus on Banquets, to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Banquet Chef will also be required to manage food provisions, assist with guest queries, and control costs. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Support brand standards through the training and assessment of the Team
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Manage customer relations when necessary, in the absence of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
  • Manage all aspects of the kitchen, with a focus on Banquets, including operational, quality and administrative functions
  • Control costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets
  • Ensure the consistent production of high quality food through all hotel food outlets
  • Manage the kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a well-organized, motivated Team
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
  • Manage the provision of food to Banquets and the Food and Beverage outlets and taking action where necessary to ensure compliance with current legislation
  • Contribute to menu creation by responding and incorporating Guest feedback
  • Ensure food stuffs are of a good quality and stored correctly
  • Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure resources support the business needs through the effective management of working rotations
