Job Description
We are CH&CO, we’re proud to take a more thoughtful, mindful approach to the food experiences we source, prepare and present. We are recruiting for a Sous Chef to work at Frensham Heights School a progressive independent day and boarding school for 3 to 18 year olds in Surrey.


Location: Rowledge, Farnham GU10 4EA


Rate of pay: £30,000 per annum


Working pattern: 5 over 7. This is a 52 week business.


Key Responsibilities


  • To produce food which is seasonal, of known provenance, locally sourced in a timely fashion to ensure smooth service to the customers
  • To communicate with the relevant parties all requirements for planned menus and order necessary ingredients.
  • Control costs through efficient purchasing and use of existing stock whilst ensuring that CH&CO standards and style is maintained.
  • Overall responsibility in Head Chef’s absence for managing the kitchen team ensuring that they are all are aware of CH&CO standards and carry out their jobs in line with those standards.


Our Ideal Candidate


  • A background in Events, such as Weddings is preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, be passionate about fresh food and exceptional service
  • Will have a contract-catering background ideally in the Education side of things
  • Ambitious to progress their career
