What A Bagel - St Clair

Baking bagels breads and pastries made from scratch in house daily!

What a Bagel 827 St. Clair Ave. W is looking for a skilled Pastry Chef to prepare different types of bread, bagels, and a wide range of pastries, cookies, etcetera. To be successful in this role, prior work experience is preferred. Ultimately, you will make sure we offer fresh and delicious goods to our customers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking.
• Recommend recipes to renew our menu and attract more customers (e.g. gluten-free or vegan desserts).
• Weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare dough.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment and tools at shift end.
• Mixing dough.
• Opening the bakery early in the morning.
• Track food supplies and place orders as needed.
• Baking off a variety of bagels, breads, pastries, etc.

Requirements

• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, proofers.
• Understanding of food safety practices.
• Experience as a Baker/Pastry Chef.
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude.
• Excellent time-management skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Experience

• Pastry Chef: 2 years (preferred).
• Baking: 2 years (preferred).
• Bakers & Confectioners: 2 years (preferred).
