Our client, carries a commercial, residential portfolios with award-winning managed buildings, they are seeking to hire passionate people who are thinkers, doers and achievers. Having real estate experience helps, but more than anything, they are looking for people who have a talent for making things happen and who thrive in a dynamic environment.
We are looking for an Assistant Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. This role ensures that our building is presented and operated to the highest standards by establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with tenants, staff and contractors.

  • 3 weeks of vacation time;
  • 37.5 hours per week (9:00am to 5pm);
  • Salary between $60,000 and 70,000$ (based on experience);
  • Stable and human team;
  • RRSP (after 3 months);
  • Permanent position;
  • Insurance (after 3 months) ;
  • Plus an additional 7% Bonus based on performance.
Responsibilities
What your day will look like working as an Assistant Property Manager:
  • Oversee the preparation and management of capital projects, their related documents, contracts and functions
  • Oversee tenant services, property administration, accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist in the development and administration of the annual operating budget
  • Perform building inspections
  • Assist in the review and negotiation of service contracts according to the rules of the art
  • Administer and organize all contracts and related files
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports with the accounting department for review by senior management
  • Assist in the establishment of accurate financial planning, reporting and control for operating budgets as well as capital budgets
  • Communicate with Property Manager regarding property operations
Qualifications
What you need for this Assistant Property Manager position:
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • 3 years or more of experience in property management with administrative and/or financial management responsibilities;
  • Experience as a people manager, able to motivate and develop a team;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and manage ambiguous complex situations in a professional manner;
  • Ability to keep abreast of building technology development and provide consultancy services on building issues;
  • Experience in maintaining tenant relationships and providing excellent customer service by proactively meeting with tenants;
  • Ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and stay organized
  • Post-secondary education required;
  • A passion and focus on environmental issues and ways to reduce carbon footprint;
  • A property management designation (FMA, RPA, CPM) would be an asset;
  • Ability to research and develop process improvements that generate efficiencies;
