Application Analyst - Onsite Edmonton

Are you an Application Analyst with Azure experience as well as integration, data and application experience ? Our Alberta-based client in the Public Sector is seeking an Application Analyst for a full time permanent role. This role will be onsite but the hiring manager would consider a hybrid model.
This position will lead the effort to integrate technology solutions across the organization, including applications, webservices, infrastructure and networks.

• Experience with Office 365, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Power Apps, and MS Power Automate, MS Graph, Power BI
• Extensive experience working with Database platforms, such as SQL, MySQL, and Oracle
• Experience on various OS platforms, such as development on Windows, Linux, OSX, iOS and Android
• Experience with backend system-to-system integration using APIs, REST, RESTFUL, and Web Services
• Experience with Azure

This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Business Applications. The primary duties and functions of this senior role is to:

• Provide leadership for the on-going technical design support for application, web-based, and database services.
• Support and implement application / solution management best practices, and procedures, as required.
• Support and implement IT security and Cybersecurity best practices, procedures, and risk mitigation measures, as required.
• Design, create and monitor the implementation of end-to-end integrated systems using a large variety of technologies.
• Support and implement data and information management best practices and procedures, as required.
• Ensure that all planned and in-place system architectures are aligned with the specific yearly and long-term goals.
• Manage the delivery of IT Solutions and Technology that drive efficiencies or improve processes within the organization.
• Provide technical design and development expertise for the successful implementation and delivery of IT solutions, data, and infrastructure services for various projects and initiatives.
• Determine application requirements for new applications and related data, ensuring the best possible alignment with existing platforms, infrastructure, and database services.
• Rationalize and integrate application, infrastructure, and data services.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

• Computer Technology Diploma, and 7 years of full-time experience; or
• University Degree in Computer Science or related degree such as Software Engineering, and 5 years of full-time experience; or
• Application Development Certifications, and 9 years of full-time experience.

Other Experience

• 5 Years managing databases and data warehouses.

• Work Independently.

• Direction from Senior Manager, Business Applications

General Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSAs)

• Experience in providing clear verbal and written communications to senior management, vendors, and business process owners / subject matter experts.
• Able to lead and manage others through complex development initiatives and projects.
• Able to create high level and detailed plans and estimates.
• Extensive experience working with Database platforms, such as SQL, MySQL, and Oracle (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Open-minded.
• Ability to develop detailed requirements gathering, both functional and non-functional.
• The ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
• Able to effectively research, investigate, evaluate, and recommend solutions based on requirements.
• Experience on various OS platforms, such as development on Windows, Linux, OSX, iOS and Android (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Previous experience using AWS.
• Experience with backend system-to-system integration using APIs, REST, RESTFUL, and Webservices (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Understanding of the SDLC and related software development methods and processes.
• Experience using frontend and backend development products, such as jQuery, ReactJS, AJAX, HTML, CCS, PHP, .Net, Visual Studio, PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, Java, R, Python, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Flask, YAML, MERN, Anaconda, and Juniper (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Experience with Office 365, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Power Apps, and MS Power Automate, MS Graph, Power BI (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Experience working with code management products and utilities, such as Git and GitHub (Please specify which you are familiar with).
• Extensive experience with WordPress.
• 3+ Years experience using Azure is very desirable.
• Self motivated.
