Drafter- Residential- Edmonton Jobs

Adecco is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Drafter to design our client's residential Low Rise construction projects. Our client is Edmonton's one of top home developers based out of the Edmonton office.

Job Summary:

As a Drafter for Home Developers in Edmonton, you will play a crucial role in the planning and design process of residential construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to create detailed and accurate technical drawings and blueprints that guide the construction and development of homes in the Edmonton area. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to transform concepts and specifications into tangible visual representations.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions to identify potential design challenges or conflicts.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and translate them into practical designs.
• Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and technological advancements related to architectural drafting.
• Incorporate design changes and modifications as necessary during the project lifecycle.
• Draft and prepare accurate architectural drawings, floor plans, and elevation plans for residential construction projects.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify technical drawings and blueprints.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of all design revisions and modifications.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including contractors and suppliers, to ensure accurate and timely implementation of design plans.
• Ensure that all drawings adhere to local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Solid understanding of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, and construction techniques.
• Proven experience as a Drafter or similar role, preferably in the residential construction industry.
• A degree or diploma in drafting, architecture, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software and rendering tools is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as ArchiCAD.
