The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) is a child and youth mental health centre integrated with The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). GH-CCMH is also a core service provider within the Toronto region of Child and Youth Community Mental Health Providers. As such, the Centre has an ambitious agenda to provide the highest quality evidence-informed care offering a range of services from prevention and early intervention through counselling and therapy, assessment and intensive supports. Services are provided in both in-person and virtual formats. We are seeking applicants for a contract Research Coordinator position. This position is focused on project coordination and management related to any and all SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health (CCMH) research endeavors, including program evaluation, data collection, and progress and outcome monitoring implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaising with contacts to facilitate outreach opportunities
• Scheduling and collecting data from participants
• Other research support tasks such as conducting literature reviews, locating relevant measures, and compiling figures and tables
• Recruiting and interfacing effectively with clients, parents, and community members from diverse backgrounds
• Complete administrative duties related to data base management, REB applications, and financial documentation
• Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
• Conducting data cleaning, management, and basic analyses

Qualifications:

• Ability to set priorities and targets and to meet deadlines in relation to frequently changing demands
• A minimum of one year relevant experience
• Technologically proficient in Microsoft suite (particularly Excel) and videoconferencing applications
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Applicants are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field and/or equivalent combination of education and research experience

This position will require the successful candidate:

• To be hard-working, detail-oriented, and conscientious individual who also possesses excellent interpersonal skills
• To be able to produce work with short turn around

In addition, the following are considered as assets:

• Client-/participant-facing work in a mental health field
• Technologically proficient in data analysis software (SPSS, R, and/or Mplus)
• Grant writing experience

Vaccine Requirements:

As a health care centre, our highest priority is the safety of patients, families and staff. As a result, we are adopting all prevention measures to ensure the safety of our clients, families and our staff. Therefore, any offer of employment is conditional upon proof of full vaccination with a Health Canada or World Health Organization (WHO) approved COVID-19 vaccination no later than fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the effective start date. Should there be an exemption of vaccination based on a medical, or human rights reason, proof will need to be provided, in addition to participation in regular COVID-19 testing based on exposure risk as well as participation in vaccine education.
