Junior Imaging Analyst - Sunnybrook Research Institute - Temporary Full Time (2023-4810)

Our dementia research group is seeking a Junior Imaging Analyst for a one-year full-time contract position (with possibility for renewal) at the LC Campbell Cognitive Neurology Research Unit under the supervision of Dr. Sandra Black. Our neuroimaging lab specializes in the application and development of cutting-edge multi-modal brain image analysis techniques to study stroke, dementia and neurodegenerative disease.

Summary Of Duties/responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Junior Imaging Analyst will be to conduct brain image analysis of structural and functional MRI data using computational tools and techniques. Other job duties include, but are not limited to: study administration, creating/maintaining study documentation, data cleaning/maintenance, performing literature review, creating figures/tables for manuscripts, trouble-shooting technical issues, and training/presenting to other staff, students, and researchers.

Qualifications/Skills

• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
• Demonstrated to be self-motivated, eager, and an independent learner
• Exceptional attention to visual details
• A high level of familiarity and comfort with computers, including learning new software
• Experience with academic/clinical research studies
• A bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or other related discipline,
• A solid understanding of neuroanatomy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of organization and time management skills

Any Of The Following Would Be Considered An Asset

• Previous experience with an Alzheimer’s, stroke, or clinical dementia patient population
• Basic understanding of MRI data including experience with any of the following software: ITKsnap, FSL, AFNI, SPM, VBM, FreeSurfer, TBSS, matlab, SPSS, R
• 1+ years of research experience, preferably in a clinical research/hospital setting
• Co-authored conference abstracts, presentations, or publications
