- Track record of highest standards of ethics, and excellent judgment.
Skills
- Ability to identify emerging and relevant policy issues, and work with internal stakeholders to assess potential impact to business and develop appropriate advocacy strategies.
- Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop clear, accurate and compelling written communications, talking points, briefing memos and reports, comfortable engaging directly with government officials at all levels.
- Ability to organize and staff Corporate Affairs events e.g. C-Suite meetings with government officials, UPS events with government guests.
- Ability to work well under pressure, and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate relevant business priorities and perspectives as they relate to public policy developments to external stakeholders.
- Self-starter, comfortable navigating within a large matrix organizational structure.
- Agile and adaptable thinker, who demonstrates attention to detail, and ability to balance input from various sources before developing and executing an appropriate advocacy strategy.
- Third party relationship management e.g. trade associations, consultants.
- Main working language will be English. High proficiency or fluency in French is an advantage.
- Comfort managing multiple files simultaneously, and balancing participation in internal business engagements and reporting with external relationship-building and presence.

- Desire to engage in general management discussions and provide input to business strategy, finance, operational and personnel planning and business risk mitigation.
- Willingness to spend time working in a live operational environment and learning about the roles and priorities of different UPS departments via hands-on experience.
