Job Description
At Trojan Technologies, we believe there’s nothing more essential than delivering clean water to the world. That’s especially true in this critical moment, when the world’s supply of clean water is under substantial stress due to industrialization, increasing demand, and rising biological and chemical contamination. Our mission is to stem that tide: to ensure greater water confidence and environmental stewardship for people, industries, and municipalities, improving the lives of over one billion people globally.

As part of our global team, you’ll work alongside customers from municipalities to pharmaceutical and food and beverage companies to build creative, sustainable solutions. You’ll also find a welcoming and supportive team that listens to your ideas and allows you to follow your strengths. All of us feel privileged to work on innovative technologies that bring clean water to the world—we hope you will, too.

Motivated by the highest possible stakes of climate change and global health, we’re working together within a rapidly digitizing industry to find innovative technologies that guarantee the safety of our water and our environment.

The Opportunity:

Trojan Technologies is seeking an experienced strategic partner to join our team as the Talent Manager & DE+I Champion. This full-time position will offer hybrid work flexibility; however, the successful incumbent can expect to have regular on-site presence at our facility in London, Ontario. As business needs require, you may find yourself on-site three or four days per week, while other weeks may provide more remote work flexibility. Preference will be given to candidates who reside within London/Middlesex County or who are willing to relocate for the opportunity.

If you are a seasoned talent management specialist who gets excited about designing and executing inclusive and equitable development strategies, and you want to find yourself in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that challenges you, rewards you for high performance, and you are looking for a place to grow, this could be the job for you!

What Will I Be Doing?

As the Talent Manager & DE+I Champion, you will work closely with the VP, Human Resources to lead the talent management strategy for Trojan Technologies, ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion is woven into all aspects. You will work in consultation and partnership with senior leaders to design and drive company-wide talent processes, including development planning, competency frameworks, organization design reviews, succession planning, and corporate sister company talent transfers.

Additional key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and execute appropriate KPIs around talent processes and training to understand current state, need for improvement, and appropriate countermeasures.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in talent to ensure Trojan Technologies is competitive.
  • Oversee and coordinate Leadership Pillar Training offerings (Development 4 Growth, Crucial Conversations, Leadership Essentials, Situational Leadership, and Building Inclusive Leaders), including identification of potential attendees, assessment of instructor bench strength, and identification of potential instructors.
  • Lead talent calibration activities for People Leaders that foster alignment around performance management, identifying top talent, accelerating their development, and enabling equitable and inclusive talent practices.
  • Partner with Trojan Technologies leadership to ensure talent moves are identified and executed appropriately and equitably while in alignment with diversity distribution goals.
  • Oversee and coordinate use of assessment tools related to talent development (360 feedback and others).
  • Develop and deliver talent management solutions that will strengthen Trojan Technologies’ culture, support Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiatives inclusive of communication, change management, talent development, and training.

What Qualifications Do I Need?

  • You are a strong critical thinker and problem solver who has a track record of achieving results in a high-performance / metrics-driven culture.
  • You have a passion for, and understanding of, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five to six years’ experience in designing and executing talent development strategy. Prior working experience as an HR Business Partner is an asset.
  • You are adept at managing and effectively prioritizing multiple competing priorities and duties in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

What Will Make Me Stand Out?

  • Your talent specialist/management experience has been within a medium- to large-sized company.
  • You have strong communication, de-escalation, negotiation, and empathy skills with a “customer-centered” attitude.
  • You have a professional reputation for “influencing without authority” and successfully delivering large-scale projects.

The Perks:

  • Lots of independence with significant growth and development opportunities available!
  • Your work and contributions will directly help to ensure water quality for people around the world – talk about feeling good about what you do!
  • Competitive salary with benefits starting your first day (medical/dental/vision), Pension Plan (with company matching), Group RSP, Wellbeing Program, and annual performance bonus.
  • You will work in a collaborative culture that values a diverse set of backgrounds and perspectives while emphasizing teamwork and a good sense of partnership.
