Student Project Coordinator (Bilingual)
What You’ll Be Working On
Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.
We are seeking a student to join us for a 4- month co-op position starting in September 2023. This position will be based a site-based north of Fermont, Quebec.
Fluency in both English and French is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination:

• Participate in project meetings.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.
• Issue warranties.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.

Field Coordination

• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate sub-trade work.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Set up and maintain record keeping.
• Supervise sub-trade work.

Scheduling

• Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.
• Update project schedules.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling
• Create manual schedules and update schedules
• Monitor manpower productivity.

Who We Need On Our Team

• Bilingual - Fluent in English & French

• Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships

• Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
• You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

• You are currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering or related program

Nous recherchons un étudiant pour un poste de co-opération de 4 mois à partir de septembre 2023. Ce poste sera basé sur un site au nord de Fermont, Québec.
La maîtrise de l'anglais et du français est une exigence obligatoire pour ce poste.
Responsabilités
Coordination De Projet

• Prendre et coordonner les photos d'avancement.
• Mettre à jour les dessins sur le terrain et produire des dessins tels qu'exécutés.
• Coordonner les dessins et la portée/travaux spécifiques.
• Émettre des garanties.
• Participer aux réunions de projet.
• Effectuer des vérifications des déficiences et mettre à jour les journaux des déficiences.
• Examiner les devis des métiers, vérifier les quantités de matériaux, les heures et les taux.

Coordination Sur Le Terrain

• Superviser les travaux des sous-traitants.
• Établir et tenir à jour la documentation.
• Coordonner les travaux des sous-traitants.
• Vérifier les conditions sur site et les coordonner avec les dessins.
• Effectuer des relevés de quantité.
• Implanter les lignes et les niveaux du site à l'aide d'une station totale.

Planification

• Créer des calendriers manuels et les mettre à jour.
• Surveiller la productivité de la main-d'œuvre.
• Mettre à jour les calendriers de projet.
• Créer et maintenir une planification graphique.
• Obtenir des informations de planification des sous-traitants.
