Job Description
Position: Project Coordinator


Location: Remote work from anywhere in the province of Quebec


Status: Full-time (35 hours/week) (Open for discussion)


Salary: $65,000 to $70,000 yearly


Note: Relevant educational and work experience will be recognized


Duration of employment: One-year contract with the possibility of extension


Other benefits: $6,000 travel benefits + Cost of living differentials (if the person lives in Nunavik), per diems for travel and a flexible work schedule


What is the opportunity?


Tusaajuit is a Nunavik-based non-profit Organization that won the 2020 Arctic Inspiration Prize. Tusaajuit’s purpose is to provide additional resources for individuals living with hearing loss in Nunavik. Our programs will give our community members access to educational resources about hearing loss and facilitate access to hearing care. We are now seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the Organization’s activities and services offered to Nunavik community members. No prior experience in hearing care is needed. Our team will train you.


What will you do?


Working With The Board Of Directors, You Will


  • Manage regional awareness campaigns and workshops.
  • Complete any other administrative tasks as directed by the Board of Directors.
  • Travel on average every two months to or within Nunavik (Northern Quebec).
  • Maintain relations of trust with shareholders, partners, and external authorities.
  • Provide a monthly activity report to the Board of Directors.
  • Manage social media and communication campaigns.
  • Manage training for hearing screenings in schools, health centers, family houses, and local community resources


Requirements


  • Demonstrates initiative, high level of autonomy and creativity
  • Interest and/or experience in working in Canada’s North
  • Self-motivated and available to represent Tusaajuit Nunavik at different meetings and events
  • Willingness to learn about hearing care
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French (Inuktitut is an asset)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and videoconference platforms such as MS Teams, etc.
  • Audiology knowledge is an asset
  • The completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hiring
