Job description

Reports to:Lead Prosper Coordinator; PARO Management

Job purpose:to coordinate all activities related to the development and execution of PARO’s Prosper initiative, including providing services and support to women entrepreneurs as per the project goals and outcomes.


Duties and Responsibilities

The Prosper Project Coordinator will be responsible for delivery of services, and achieving project outcomes. Supported by a team of project coordinators and under the supervision of the Lead Project Coordinator, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following activities:


General Project Coordination

  • Work with partners to strengthen existing and build new inclusive networks of support for women entrepreneurs, that identify and share knowledge and best practices, and/or improve support for small businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Support the team in carrying out activities as outlined in the Project Outcomes to advance/support procurement and supplier diversity efforts by providing women-owned companies with strategic connections, training, mentoring, counselling and support, to increase understanding about, and access to, private and public sector procurement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators in each identified region to develop partnerships at all levels of project outcomes
  • Liaise with partner teams to identify and complete objectives for partner organizations
  • Achieve program outcomes and ensure steadfast and timely progress
  • Deliver enhanced business programs and services that provide cutting-edge skill development/training and counselling, plus access to information and resources
  • Collaborate with PARO team members in Ontario, such as loan and circle coordinators and business counsellors where appropriate
  • Ensure quantitative outcomes are on-track to be completed by the end of the project, including collaborating with Prosper Coordinators to monitor progress in respective areas
  • Work with clients to carry out activities related to capacity building and skills development opportunities; compilation, development and delivery on learning materials, tools and workshops responsive to the objectives of this project
  • Assist with the implementation of intake and reporting mechanisms
  • Collaborating with the Lead, nurture partner interaction and foster partner relationships, maintaining effective communications strategies in all regions
  • Work with program participants (enterprising women) to support their business development through one-on-one counselling, fostering access to contact development opportunities and training
  • Assist with the implementation of evaluation mechanisms for gathering feedback from partners, participants and other stakeholders

  • Prosper Circles and Business Advisory Committees

    • In working with multi-provincial partners, build opportunities for participant access to peer support, strategic connections and networking opportunities, and goal-oriented mentoring through coordinating access to a Prosper Business Advisory Committee
    • Foster interest and build a network of Prosper Peer Lending Circles based on an innovative Peer Circle Model, providing and advance forum and network of peer support and mentorship for groups of growth-minded women entrepreneurs


    BIZCamps

    · Through working with multi-regional partners and the Lead Prosper Coordinator, coordinate multiple series of BIZCamps (business bootcamps) that support cohorts of women over the course of the program; these BIZCamps include themes such asthe Green Economy, Credit and Investment Readinessandthe Food Processing JourneyandMooka’am Kwe: She RisesBIZCamp for Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs, and others

    Resource Development, General Outreach and Communications

    • Share promotional activities and communication strategies that increase awareness of challenges and issues faced by small business and entrepreneurs
    • Participate in creating resources for inclusion
    • Participate in identified data management systems that support this project including regular evaluations, reports and statistical management where appropriate


    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • The ability to adapt and be flexible based on project needs
    • Ability to work collaboratively on a team to connect with partners and stakeholders, and build strong, collaborative networks for women entrepreneurs
    • A strong foundation in administration, including project planning and monitoring for outcomes, delivering programs and services, budget reporting and forecasting, operations planning for logistics
    • Understand the power of social media and other software to support communications
    • Understanding of women-centred community economic development and entrepreneurship, including challenges faced by women entrepreneurs with intersectional identities seeking support in starting and scaling their businesses
    • Experience in project coordination
    • A desire to work intimately with women entrepreneurs to contribute to finding solutions to challenges
    • Strong ability to work on a team with project partners toward achieving project outcomes in a supportive and positive environment
    • Experience with databases and CRMs

    Qualifications

    • Education in Management, Business or a related field; additional business-oriented education, certification or equivalent is desirable
    • Verbal and written fluency in English is a requirement; French is a significant asset
    • A background in economic development, community development and/or business
    • Experience in the development and oversight of programs with specific outcomes
    • Experience in government-funded projects focused on project delivery, training, workshops, communications, etc.
