Available for an immediate hire, Robert Half is searching for a skilled, eager, and strong candidate to fill the role of a Senior Accounting Manager for an expanding, influential company. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. Preferably, you should be able to establish and scale company accounting and finance operations. Key Responsibilities

• Train and develop the team and create a high performing department.
• Support in development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice.
• Conduct annual Performance Evaluations with direct reports.
• Perform financial and systems analysis and apply analysis to complex accounting issues.
• Recognize opportunities for tax and consulting strategies and discuss with other departments.
• Train and develop Managers, Senior Associates, Associates and Staff Accountants.
• Contribute to business development including maintaining and/or developing internal and external relationships.
• Develop materials for and participate in the delivery of the presentations to clients and firm personnel.
• Organize accounting tasks from initiation to completion.
• Review and contribute to the planning and execution of projects, including management of engagements.
• Opportunities may arise to serve clients and support local office teams around the country or internationally.
• Develop staff skillsets related to technical knowledge, communication skills, and project management.
• Assist clients with tax planning.
• Review current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the accounting team, advise and implement new procedures for increased efficiency.
• Review client deliverables prepared by staff.

Requirements

• Strong technical background in Canadian Income Tax.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• 3-5 years of experience managing a team of Professionals within the Public Accounting industry.
• Strong computer literacy including CaseWare, CCH (Tax Prep), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with T1, T2, T3 and other tax forms mandatory.
• Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension skills.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
