Site Attendant (3 Months Contract)

GFL Environmental is looking for an energetic, independent and motivated individual to join our team as a Landfill Site Attendant on a 3 month contract. As a Landfill Attendant, you are responsible to ensure that the landfill site is operating in a neat, tidy and cost effective manner.

This position is based out of our Hinton landfill.

Job Duties:

• Keep all areas of the landfill site clean and well maintained
• Sort recyclables as required
• Assisting with cash transactions as required
• Litter picking and removal
• Assisting customers with their questions about their waste/recycling
• Assist in transferring or disposing of waste as required
• Keep all buildings clean and well maintained
• Direct all users to proper dumping areas and record what items are being disposed
• Directing customers with the disposal of their waste/recycling

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Landfill experience is an asset
• Class 5 Drivers License
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
• Physically fit with the ability to lift at least 30lbs
• Experience with or knowledge of the handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous Substance and Dangerous Waste
