Professional Driver Class 3 Or 5

Successful Candidate Must Have
* *Valid Class 3 or 5 license with 1 year flat deck experience,*
* *Current abstract with no more than 4 demerits*
* *Ability to operate a Manual Transmission*
* *2 years commercial driving experience.*
General Responsibilities

• Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled
• Check and adjust load securement as required.
• Must be able to work on dock when required
• Operate PDA’s and cell phones for communication with dispatch, complying with applicable laws for communication devices.
• Comply with highway weigh scale procedures as directed by transportation officials
• Advise dispatch of all incidents and injuries immediately.
• Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections as per Schedule 1 for NSC - National Safety Code requirements
• Wearing of job specific PPE clothing, masks, glasses or visors
• Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Clear Language regulations
• Comply with National Safety Code and Provincial Highway / Traffic regulations
• Meet schedules and deadlines and drive in all weather, traffic and road conditions
• Perform sundry duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager, dispatch or superior.
• Keep vehicles clean inside and out
• Some manual lifting involved
• Operate 5 Ton truck for pick up and delivery in Edmonton and surrounding areas.
• Perform emergency, minor and preventative maintenance repairs. Report damage to maintenance department.
• Completing scheduled pick-ups or deliveries in a professional manner
• Observe all company rules, policies and procedures with regards to quality control, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.

\*New Class 1 drivers looking to obtain a Class 1 position through mentorship program may be considered. Current class 3 or 5 license and 2 years professional driving experience will be considered for this role. This is a safety sensitive position requiring mandatory pre-employment testing for under company Drug & Alcohol Policy.
